The Ananthamurthy International School vehemently refuses to allow children to memorize from textbooks. It has mostly adopted the 5 E Instructional Model whereby children are provided opportunities for constructing deep understanding of topics - exploring videos, conducting experiments, undertaking surveys, going on field trips, doing projects, participating in discussions, learning 'games', quizzes...a variety of learning experiences, while negotiating the prescribed academic milestones, enabling students to confidently face examinations. Science lessons at the Academy align deftly with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), the model of Instruction now widely used in the better schools in the US and in educationally advanced countries such as Finland, Singapore, Japan and China.

Opportunities for imbibing 21st Century skills -- Collaboration, Creativity, Critical thinking, Character and Citizenship -- are carefully woven into each learning experience at the Academy.

At the Ananthamurthy International School, an overt effort is also made - with help from donors and other benefactors - to accommodate children from indigent families belonging to the marginalized sections of the society.
